Dedicated Support Through Our ATSI Programs
Our commitment to community well-being includes specialised Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) programs designed to provide holistic rehabilitation services that address substance dependency and mental health needs in culturally respectful and effective ways. Based on Dharawal land, Deeper Care is proud to collaborate with local Aboriginal Medical Services (AMS) and Worrigee Medical Centre to deliver comprehensive, person-centred support.
1.0 Djurumin Rehabilitation Program
The Djurumin Rehabilitation Program is a three-phase initiative focusing on Prevention and Early Intervention, Detoxification, and Residential Services. This program reflects our dedication to supporting sustainable health and resilience within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
1.1 Prevention and Early Intervention
Through early assessment and resource sharing, this phase emphasises awareness and support for individuals, families, and vulnerable groups.
- Assessing substance dependency prevalence to identify vulnerable populations.
- Providing information and resources on substance dependency.
- Linking service users to vital community stakeholders.
- Supporting resilience-building, stress management, and coping skills.
- Promoting healthier lifestyle choices for individuals and communities.
1.2 Detoxification
Recognising the importance of detox as a foundational step to recovery, our program offers supervised support that eases cravings and provides physical, mental, and emotional assistance for a more manageable withdrawal experience.
1.3 Residential Program (8 Weeks)
This intensive phase offers structured support to foster lasting recovery and includes:
- Education: Recovery, communication, and stress management skills.
- Counselling: Trauma-related counselling and co-occurring disorder treatment.
- Relapse Prevention: Skills and a 12-step program for behavioural challenges.
- Group and Family Support: Strengthening ties and fostering communal healing.
Our ATSI Programs embody our commitment to fostering resilience, wellness, and inclusivity, addressing substance dependency while honouring the traditions and values of the communities we serve.
